John W. Miller, M.D. was born in El Paso, Texas. He is a fellowship trained Retina and Vitreous specialist. After completed his Ophthalmology residency and fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, he joined his practice in the Houston area. He began working with Beaumont Eye Associates in 1995.  He has extensive experience in treating retinal diseases both in the operating room and in the office.  He travels between his different offices providing retinal consultation for patients in the Houston and Beaumont areas.

Dr. Miller and his wife, Faythe, were married in 1986 while he was still in training.  They have three grown daughters, with seven grandchildren.  Sugie and Papa John, as they are known, look forward to spending time with both children and grandchildren.  When possible, Dr. Miller likes to convince family members to accompany him on a great rollercoaster ride.  He also enjoys learning about space exploration and was able to travel to Florida in 2023 for the launch of a moon rocket.
